Direct Colors ColorWave is the water-based concrete stain we use for transparent finishes on basements, patios, and walkways. There are a lot of concrete stain products out there. Here is why we picked this one.

Manufactured by Direct Colors themselves. A lot of concrete stain on the market is rebranded product, meaning the company selling it did not formulate it. ColorWave is made by Direct Colors. They are responsible for the chemistry and the result.

Water-based. Water-based concrete stain is easier to apply, lower in odor, and safer in interior spaces like basements. Acid-based stains are harder to work with and not always appropriate for finished interior spaces.

Predictable color. Concrete stain reacts with the slab, so no two finishes are exactly the same. ColorWave gives us a wider control range than reactive stains while still letting the natural concrete character come through.
