Our process
How every TD Surface job runs
The same five steps whether the project is a deck in Chatham, a fence in Rochester, or a basement floor in Springfield. This is what to expect from the first phone call through the final sign-off.
-
Free estimate
You tell us about your project. We come out, look at the deck, fence, or floor, and walk through the work with you. Color, finish, timing, what you want. Within a couple of days we send a written quote with the scope, the timeline, and the price. No moving target.
-
Prep
Prep is the project. Hand-cleaning, sanding, surface profiling. Professional-grade chemicals where they belong, none where they do not. On wood, we test moisture in 15 to 20 spots before the first coat. On concrete, we grind, etch, and condition the slab. Most failed stain jobs fail at prep. We do not skip it.
-
Application
Decks get Expert Stain and Seal brushed into the grain by hand. Fences get sprayed and then back-brushed for coverage and bond. Concrete gets Direct Colors ColorWave for a transparent finish or a high-quality solid coating, sealed for protection. Right product, right method, right surface.
-
Walkthrough
When the work is dry we walk it with you. We leave painter's tape so you can mark anything you want touched up. We come back within a week to handle it. That is the last step before you sign off.
-
Payment
A down payment locks in your start date and covers materials. Balance is due on completion, cash or check. Every job gets finished. Nobody disappears mid-project.
